FIBA 3x3 World Tour Macau 2026 concludes

MACAU, October 18 - Authorized by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), organized by the Sports Bureau and StarMac Entertainment Production Limited, co-organized by the Macau-China Basketball Association and Chaiioi Sports Company Limited, and supported by the Macao Government Tourism Office, the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Macau 2026 concluded today (18 October) at the Ruins of St. Paul’s. World number one Team Ub from Serbia was crowned champion.

The FIBA 3x3 World Tour is a top-tier event in the FIBA 3x3 competition system and has long attracted extensive attention from global media and the basketball world. This year's World Tour season began in April and has been held in various cities, with the Macau leg being a key event in the race to qualify for the World Tour Finals and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. It brought together 16 top teams from around the world to compete for the championship, with a total prize pool of USD185,000.

Following yesterday’s  (17 October) qualification matches and group stage, today’s proceedings kicked off with Ub (Serbia), Skyliners (Germany), Shanghai (China) and Miami (USA) winning their quarter-final matches against DeQing (China), Amsterdam RABOBANK (Netherlands), Taipei WanBao (Chinese Taipei) and Cotai WOLFUNITED (Macao, China), respectively. In the semi-finals, Ub overcame Skyliners 21-15, while Shanghai defeated Miami 21-18. In the final, Ub and Shanghai delivered an exciting match. Shanghai took the initiative and led early, but Ub made adjustments and connected on a series of outside shots, eventually winning 21-15 to claim the championship. Ub’s Marko Brankovic was named Most Valuable Player.

A Shoot-Out Contest and a Dunk Contest were also held during the event. Toni Blazan of Team Vienna (Austria) won the Shoot-Out Contest, and Piotr Grabowski from Poland won the Dunk Contest.

Guests officiating the prize presentation ceremony included: Ms. Leong Wai Man, President of the Sports Bureau; Mr. Lou Kit Long, Chief Executive Officer of StarMac Entertainment Production Limited; Ms. Lei Si Leng, Vice President of the Sports Bureau; and Mr. Wu Chong Fai, President of the Macau-China Basketball Association.

Furthermore, in response to the Macao SAR Government’s “Tourism+” and “Sports+” industry integration policy and to create a new model linking major sports events with local neighborhood associations, commercial districts, food, and culture, the organizers carried out diversified ancillary activities during the event. Together with nearly 20 merchants in the Ruins of St. Paul’s commercial district—including food and beverage, cultural and creative industries, and local brands—the organizers set up basketball-themed games in stores and launched event-exclusive spending offers to attract spectators to the district and encourage spending. At the same time, in cooperation with the Women’s General Association of Macau, the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau, and the Macao Federation of Trade Unions, the organizers opened venues for association competitions and experience activities, sharing event resources and promoting sports exchange. The footfall generated by this international sporting event has boosted consumption in the Ruins of St. Paul’s community, stimulated cultural tourism and the commercial district economy, and promoted sports tourism in Macao.
